ITD helped ensure success of invitational games

Darrell Manning, Chairman
Idaho Transportation Board

On behalf of the citizens of the Great State of Idaho, I want to extend my sincerest thanks to the Idaho Transportation Department for your help with the 2008 Special Olympics Invitational Winter Games.

These games enjoyed tremendous success due to the planning and efforts of the Idaho Transportation Department and all the public safety agencies involved. Integrated law enforcement, including six federal agencies, five state agencies, and EMS and fire departments from four counties, seven cities as well as several private groups spent 10 months preparing to ensure that the winter Games were successful in all aspects of public safety.

In addition to introducing athletes and other participants to the welcoming volunteers at Idaho’s beautiful competition venues, the 2008 Special Olympics Invitational Winder Games served as a live exercise training for the 2009 Special Olympics World Games. Based upon the knowledge gained during this year’s event, I am confident we are prepared to host safe and responsive Games when the world comes to Idaho in 2009.

Congratulations on your accomplishments, and I look forward to the continued cooperation and teamwork of the Idaho Transportation Department and the public safety agencies across the state.

As always – Idaho, “Esto Perpetua”

C.L. “Butch” Otter
Governor of Idaho

Thanks fore help in resolving over-legal issue

Dennis Black
Supervisor, Cotterel Port of Entry

I want to express my appreciation for your help in resolving the large over-weight fine for the recent citation … received driving for my company, Picabo Livestock in Picabo.

Your quick response and interest speaks well for your position as supervisor. I interact with many state employees and especially those in the ITD, and I find a similar work ethic. It is great, and it makes one feel proud to be from Idaho.

Again, thanks, and if I can be of any help to you or the department please let me know.

Nick Purdy,
Picabo
