Wind damages Council sand shed A summer storm that chased high temperatures in southern Idaho this week also brought high winds – and some damage. Winds also damaged an ITD maintenance facility in Council, where supporting framework for a vinyl/canvas covered sand shed was damaged. Trees also were uprooted in the Cascade-McCall area. Other parts of Idaho watched a pre-Independence display of fireworks – in the form of lightning. Motorists, campers and other outdoors enthusiasts are urged to use caution when in dry conditions. Warm weather and winds can turn ample vegetation into tinder-dry conditions and heighten concerns over wildfires. Published 7-3-2010 |
