Resurfacing project planned for Cloverdale bridge over I-84 The first major resurfacing of the Cloverdale Overpass Bridge deck since its construction nearly 45 years ago will take place in July. The bridge spans Interstate 84 in Boise. The resurfacing project is scheduled around the close of Spalding Elementary School for summer vacation. The school is located at the base of the bridge on the north side. Work involves grinding the existing surface, repairing any scarring or deterioration around the reinforcing steel and removing any old patches. The deck will be repaved with concrete including a micro-silica additive that produces a more dense mixture that is more resistant to normal traffic wear. In addition to the resurfacing, the approaches to the bridge will be rebuilt and paved for about 50 feet to create a smooth transition to Cloverdale Road. Published 2-11-2011 |
