One-time
salary increase checks delivered today
As
a result of a commitment by the 2005
Legislature and an improving Idaho economy,
ITD and other state employees should
receive checks by the end of today for
a one-time salary increase. The checks
will be equivalent to 1 percent of an
employee's annual salary. Working on
a very short deadline, Human Resources
verified eligibility and coordinated
the disbursement of 1,788 checks. More
than 98 percent of ITD's current roster
of employees were eligible to receive
the one-time payment. Payments are being
made directly to employees rather than
deposited into personal accounts.

It's
one of the first lessons drivers learn when
getting behind the wheel a green light
means go, a yellow light means slow, and a red
light means stop. Forgetting that simple rule
can have devastating consequences. Last year,
four people were killed in Idaho and another
1,050 were injured when motorists ran red lights,
according to the Idaho Transportation Departments
Office of Traffic and Highway Safety (OTHS).
