Scenic Byways
Funding approved for nine of 10 Scenic Byway proposals
Idaho’s intrinsic beauty will get a little more attention as a result of federal funding announced last week that enhances the state’s scenic byway system. Garry Young, coordinator of the transportation department’s Idaho Scenic Byway program learned Friday that nine of 10 projects submitted to the Federal Highway Administration earlier this year were approved for funding.

Newest Scenic Byway to incorporate region's agriculture
Approved by the Idaho Transportation Board in October, the Snake River Canyon Scenic Byway becomes the 28th route on the state system and the first that focuses on the contribution of agriculture to Idaho’s economy. It traverses the vineyards and orchards of southwest Idaho, beginning at Idaho 45, follows Map Rock Road and continues to the Snake River that separates Oregon and Idaho.

Legislative meetings lead to positive dialogue

A delegation led by board chairman Darrell Manning and ITD Director Pam Lowe met with legislators the past two weeks to outline the department’s priorities heading into the 2008 Legislative session. The series included stops in all six districts and focused on the initial draft of ITD’s efficiency report, a presentation on revenue needs and a brief summary of the GARVEE Program.

We have a new and easier way to book conference rooms for meetings that require equipment setup. The new method is easy to learn, and only requires two clicks of the mouse. Effective immediately, whenever employees book any meeting (at Headquarters) that requires IT to set up any equipment just book the meeting in Outlook as you would any regular meeting.
