Richardson to help ITRMC with technology plan
Mark Richardson has accepted a special work assignment with the Information Technology Resource Management Council (ITRMC), assisting with the implementation of Idaho’s strategic information technology plan. Richardson will begin working with ITRMC staff in the near future, with office space provided by the Idaho Department of Administration.

Board learns of ACHD's search for additional funds
Like the majority of state transportation agencies, Ada County Highway District (ACHD) does not have sufficient resources to address all of its infrastructure needs. So ACHD, according to Wayne Forrey, Funding Facilitator, is exploring funding options.

Hitting the highway? Be prepared
Motorists traveling during the holidays are reminded to check the Idaho Road Report for weather-related road conditions across Idaho’s highway system. The report is updated four times daily, at 5:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The reports are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays) by phone or on the Internet.

FHWA chief offers holiday travel tips
Mary Peters, the nation's top highway official, launched a "check-in, check-up, check-out" program of holiday driving tips earlier this week. The tips are designed to help drivers steer clear of traffic congestion and delays and stay safe while on the road during the holiday travel rush.

ITD to participate in information security campaign
An awareness campaign encouraging state employees to be “security aware” will begin in early January. During the next four months, the state’s Information Technology Resource Management Council (ITRMC) will work to increase awareness of information-related security issues throughout the State of Idaho’s workforce, thereby limiting opportunities for people to deliberately or accidentally steal, damage, or misuse the data that is stored, processed or transmitted within state computer systems.

Letterhead, business cards assume new look

Evolution to new e-mail addresses and a plan to standardize the appearance of some ITD printed material prompted the design of new letterhead and business cards that will go into effect Jan. 1. The new year will bring print-on-demand letterhead that provides users with flexibility in ordering and eliminates the need to stock large quantities.
