ITD reaches social media milestone in public outreach efforts
One of the many tools ITD uses to communicate with various, often divergent, segments of the population and connect with reporters and the public alike recently reached a milestone.
A few years ago, ITD added social media to its outreach toolbox. The department’s Twitter account (@IdahoITD) recently registered its 2,000th follower. That number is significant when viewed from the perspective of a non-revenue producing, non-entertainment site.
“What we provide is quite valuable – highway information to help drivers make safe and smart travel decisions, and the latest transportation-related facts and events to guide travelers,” said Office of Communications Manager Jeff Stratten.
ITD also is nearing 1,000 “Likes” on Facebook that distributes information that closely mirrors the Twitter account in content.
