ITD employees are encouraged to mark their calendars and prepare now to attend the biannual Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) conference, Jan. 27-28.

The informative conference will be in Idaho Falls at the Red Lion Hotel; ITD's District 6 staff will serve as hosts.

The first day of the conference provides training in identifying and preventing discrimination in employment and gives updates on legal developments in EEO laws. It also will help employees understand the changing culture of discrimination in employment.

The second day concentrates on EEO issues in construction contracting and ensuring compliance. It also will review the resources available for assistance. Professional speakers who are considered experts in their fields will be brought in both days.

Day One is perfectly suited for any ITD supervisor; the second day is designed more for district residency/regional personnel. Residency supervisors will attend both days, however.

Registration for the two-day event is $40. Hotel reservations must be made by Jan. 2, 2004. The EEO Office at ITD will provide fliers in the near future that give additional details. Questions may be directed to the office at 334-8852.
