Intranet site focuses on technology transformation

An Intranet site unveiled this week will enable ITD employees to engage in the department’s technology transformation process, chronicle its progress and interact with project managers.

A link to the new site can be found under “projects” on the navigation bar located to the left of the Intranet's main window. From the drop-down menu, select IT Transition. Or for direct access to the project click and save the Intranet address – http://Intranet/ITTransition/

ITD employees can review the transition team’s mission/charter and membership, the scheduled work plan and questions their colleagues have submitted regarding the transformation process. The site also enables employees to send e-mail questions to project managers Sue Simmons or Larry Falkner. Questions can be asked anonymously; answers will be posted under the FAQ link.

“We invite employees to visit the site to learn more about our transformation progress,” explained Sue Simmons. “This is an open, fully transparent process that will reshape how we are structured and how we operate. Employee input is a critical part of that process.”

“All questions and suggestions will be acknowledged,” adds Falkner. “The Intranet site will foster the kind of dialogue necessary to make this process successful and lead us into a new era of service to Idaho.”

Consultant David Fletcher, who conducted an Enterprise Data Model study and the Information Strategy Plan several years ago, is leading the transition team. The 10-member team, which represents a cross-section of ITD, is preparing an implementation plan that should be completed by July 1. The transformation could take several years to complete.
