Roadeos put driving skills to the test

Maintenance crews started the summer by joining the ITD roadeo circuit, putting their driving skills to the test in friendly competition. Roadeos challenge drivers to maneuver a front loader around tennis balls, stop a plow within inches of a marker or avoid obstacles while driving a truck in reverse.

District competitions helped narrowed the playing field, with the “best of the best” meeting at the Island Park maintenance for a statewide contest. In each district competition, foremen compete for one top honor, and crew members compete to place among the top three.
