District 4 adds part-time public affairs specialist

Amy E. Lierman of Filer recently joined the Idaho Transportation Department in Shoshone as the Public Affairs Specialist.

She will serve as spokesperson for ITD’s District 4, prepare news releases, respond to public and media inquiries, and assist with the department’s Internet-based road report.

Her goal is to keep the public informed about things that are vital to them – safe transportation, commuting, and planning for the future. Her position is the first of its kind for the district.

“We recognize the importance of keeping citizens informed about department activities, and adding a public affairs member to our staff will ensure the flow of information remains a priority,” said Devin Rigby, District 4 Engineer.

“It also demonstrates our commitment to be responsive to the public in creating a transportation system that is safe, efficient and meets the public’s needs.”

Lierman has eight years of marketing and sales experience. Before joining the transportation department, she was the Assistant Marketing Director and Customer Service Manager for the Magic Valley Mall.
