ITD employees will benefit from extra check ITD employees who meet eligibility criteria should receive an additional check late this month as a result of action taken by the 2004 Legislature. As part of a salary increase package, legislators approved an additional, one-time lump-sum payment equivalent to 1 percent of employees annual salary. For that bonus to be awarded, the state needed to finish FY04 with a surplus of at least $5 million. An economic rebound and increased tax collections produced a general fund surplus of more than $26 million. The ITD Human Resource office began running reports this week to determine employee eligibility. Disbursements will come as a single check, probably issued around Aug. 27. They will not be deposited directly into personal accounts, but instead, will be delivered internally. To qualify for the one-time payment, state employees must meet the following criteria established by the Division of Human Resources, the Division of Financial Management and the state Controller's Office (see memo):
Approximately 90 percent of Idahos 17,000 employees will receive an additional check. With a statewide average salary of approximately $34,000, the average check will be about $340, before taxes. The payment is based on employee salaries as of April 1. |
