The Bottom Line

Open enrollment for life insurance begins Sept. 1
ITD employees have an opportunity to purchase additional life insurance through the Voluntary Group Life Plan, underwritten by the Prudential Insurance Company of America. The plan is administered by Gallagher Byerly, Inc. The open enrollment period begins Sept. 1 and continues through Nov. 30.

The life insurance plan is designed to supplement other life insurance that ITD employees may already have through ITD’s benefit program or any insurance employees may have purchased independently. The open enrollment period provides an opportunity to purchase term life insurance with no medical evidence requirements. The monthly cost remains the same, regardless of your age.

Anyone interested in more information about the NCPERS open enrollment should contact the respective district administration office. Employees at Headquarters may call Carla Anderson (ext. 8871), Carlin Hill (ext. 8012) or Barbara Kantola (ext. 8009).

End of summer event planned Tuesday at Headquarters
As recognition that you have safely navigated your way through another summer, the Headquarters Safety Committee and Headquarters-based employee organization DoRolCo are combining for an end-of-summer festivity.
The 2004 Ice Cream Social and summer Safety Exhibit will be Tuesday (Aug. 31) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on the East Annex lawn. Ice cream will be provided free to current or new DoRolCo members; nonmembers will be charged $2.

A number of summer safety displays will be featured at the event, including the "Little Al" Life Flight helicopter and the sale of first aid kits by Norco.

Professional surveyors leave mark
Idaho Society of Professional Land Surveyors installed a brass disk monument and plaque in concrete, at the West Overlook of the Lemhi Pass, near Tendoy on Friday Aug. 21. A number of local residents and elected officials joined members of the survey organization from around the State.

Curt Smith gave the dedication ceremony speech emphasizing the importance of the surveyor's role in discovering and charting the West and acknowledged the contributions of explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark's role as being the first surveyors. The monument is located near the explorer's southern route in Idaho.
