PERSI 505 workshop canceled; new session added

An Oct. 7 seminar to help state employees prepare financially for retirement has been canceled, and a new workshop has been added to the fall schedule in its place, Oct. 28.

ITD employees will have the first opportunity to register for the all-day PERSI 505 session at the Holiday Inn on Vista Avenue. Registration also is possible at the location, beginning at 8 a.m. The workshop, designed for state employees who are within five years of retirement, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

ITD employees who want to register in advance should contact Carlin Hill in Human Resources or Vonda Schuld at the District 3 office no later than Oct. 1. A PERSI 505 registration form also is available at www.persi.state.id.us

“If you have already sent in your registration for the Oct. 7 workshop at District 3, a PERSI representative will contact you to see if you are interested in attending on the new date,” Hill said.

Workshop participants are asked to take income information to the session; calculators and worksheets will be provided. A registration fee of $15 is required, but it will be returned to all participants. Those who register but do not attend will forfeit the fee.

The workshop will cover PERSI retirement options, Social Security benefits, managing income in retirement, health care costs, tax implications of retirement and estate planning.

ITD will host another PERSI 505 workshop March 16 at the District 3 office.
