ITD to recognize employees for service

Work stations at Headquarters will thin out briefly Friday ( Oct. 8) when employees assemble for the semiannual ITD Service Awards presentation in the auditorium.

ITD administrators, Director Dave Ekern and board member John McHugh of District 1 will congratulate more than 50 individuals who have reached employment milestones at the department. Friends, family members and co-workers are invited to attend the 10 a.m. ceremony if their schedule allows.

Early arrival is strongly suggested because seating is limited.

Refreshments will be served in the lobby following the awards presentation.

The fall ceremony will recognize 16 employees who have reached their fifth year at ITD and 13 others who have completed their tenth year. Seven employees have reached 15 years, eight will celebrate 20 years and three each will mark their 25th and 30th years.

The patriarch of the family is Steven Mample of the Bridge Section, who celebrates 35 years with he transportation department.

ITD also will honor five employees who retired in the first half of 2004. Combined, they represent more than 115 years of experience, led by Robert Smith who logged 33 years. Other retirees are: Roger North, 28 years, Arlene Miller, 21 years, and Allen Marsh and Violet Gibbons, both of whom recorded 17 years.
