Daily reports on road conditions begin Nov. 1

Carry emergency supplies

Motorists can get daily updates on weather-related road conditions, beginning Monday (Nov. 1), by calling the Idaho Road Report.

Conditions on the state highway system are updated daily (including weekends and holidays) at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The twice-daily reports are available 24 hours a day by phone or on the Internet.

Road reports will increase to four times daily (5:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.) beginning Nov. 22.

The report is organized into five menu options for road condition information:

  • Northern Idaho
  • Southwestern Idaho
  • Eastern Idaho
  • Interstates and U.S. 95
  • Emergency highway road closures

The statewide toll-free number is 1-888-IDA-ROAD (432-7623). For online road information, visit the transportation department's web site at itd.idaho.gov and click on “Traveler Services.”

When road conditions across the state become generally favorable, usually in late March or early April, the service returns to reporting construction activities that might have significant traffic impacts.
