The Bottom Line

Compensation committee seeks employee input

The Commerce and Human Resources committees of the Idaho Senate and House of Representatives will meet jointly as the Change in Employee Compensation Committee on Jan. 7 in Boise.

Testimony from state employees is critical to discussions and decisions about changes in employee compensation (salaries). Chairs of the committees, Sen. John Andreason and Rep. Robert E. Schaefer encourage state employees to take advantage of the opportunity to provide input so legislators can make informed decisions about salary increases in 2005.

“We gain a better understanding of our state workforce’s perspective when we can hear their views directly on compensation and benefit issues… We encourage their participation," the co-chairs said.

"There will be an opportunity for employees to testify on Friday, January 7, 2005, at the Statehouse in Room 328 (JFAC room), beginning at 2:30 p.m. To ensure all who wish to testify have that opportunity, comments will be limited to three minutes per person.”

Employees who cannot attend may send written comments to: Legislative Services Office, Attn. CEC Committee, State Capitol, Room 334, Boise, ID 83720 or via fax to (208) 334-2668, or via e-mail to CEC@lso.state.id.us.

Al written comments must be received by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4.
