W-2 tax forms available online

State employees who receive W-2 forms can take advantage of a paperless tax preparation system by downloading their W-2 information directly into Intuit's TurboTax software, TurboTax for the Web or CCH's CompleteTax.

To retrieve the W-2 form, go to the State Controller’s Web site at www.sco.state.id.us and select “payroll.” Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Electronic W-2 download.” This will take users directly to the W-2 download information page. Once there, employees can link to the product of their choice. The link will take computer users to the vendor’s Web site.

Anyone who has problems or questions about the computer-based tax preparation programs should contact the appropriate vendor.

Classified employees invited to provide input

The Idaho Division of Human Resources is responding to several information requests made Jan. 7 at the Legislature’s 2005 CEC (Change in Employee Compensation) meeting.

Some legislators want to know “how classified state employees feel about the employee problem solving process.” To assist with this request, DHR has developed a brief, confidential, survey accessible on the Employee Portal.

Classified employee are encouragd to participate in the survey if they desire. The survey will be accessible on the Employee Portal employee.idaho.gov through Jan. 31.
