Publications, enhancement section added
to ITD's News & Information Web site

Information that probes the depths of the transportation department – from the myriad accomplishments of past year to highway improvement projects for the next five years and beyond – have been added to the ITD Web site.

The 2004 Annual Report, which outlines achievements of the past yea, was posted to the “Publications” page on the web ( http://www.itd.idaho.gov/NewsAndInfo/Publications.htm ).

A link to the PDF (portable document format) is found next to an image of the Annual Report’s front cover under the “News and Information” section. Also listed under the same heading are the 2004 Public Transportation Performance Report and “Inside the Idaho Transportation Department.” The latter includes information about ITD programs and projects and a resource guide that includes important telephone numbers, addresses and links to transportation-related Web sites.

The 2004 Aeronautics Performance Report is posted under Aeronautics, and the 2004 Highway Performance Report is posted in the Highways section of the Publications page. Both contain overviews of the divisions’ successes in 2004.

ITD’s guide for operating and growing the transportation system is included in the newest release of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, a 130-page PDF document also posted on the Publications site.

The STIP provides details on highway, public transportation and aeronautics programs through year 2007 and includes projects/programs for Fiscal Years 2008, 2009 and preliminary development plans.

For convenience, the STIP is available to download by sections:

  • Table of Contents
  • Executive Introduction
  • Projects by district
  • A statewide project list
  • Funding information
  • Mode programs
  • Special programs, and
  • Processes

Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the PDF publications. The reader is available free for safe download from the STIP site. Because of file sizes, the documents or sections may take a few minutes to download, especially on dial-up connections.

Another new feature under News and Information provides information about the enhancement process. Developed by Gail Ewart for the Division of Planning, the colorful and informative site includes:

  • How to apply for enhancement funds
  • The project development process
  • Examples of successful projects (North Lewiston Gateway, the Oregon Trail Visitor’s Center and the Federal Way Pathway)
  • Frequently asked questions, and
  • Downloads of solicitations, applications and instructions
