Thanks for condolences
To the ITD family,
I want to express my sincere thanks to everybody who sent their condolences, prayers and concerns. All of the well wishes are such a comfort for me during this difficult time.

I am just amazed by the consideration and thoughtfulness of the employees of the Idaho Transportation Department. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Juli Stevens

Beyond the call of duty
ITD Driver Services
On March 17, 2005, my daughter and I found ourselves in Charlotte, N.C.’s Douglas International Airport in the process of renting a car. We were headed to my niece’s wedding in Charleston, S.C. Unfortunately, my Idaho driver’s license had expired over two months prior to this day. We had already been delayed one-half day on our trip due to several airline problems, so my frustration level was elevated. I was feeling very desperate at this point.

I called the Boise office of the Idaho Transportation Department to explain my dilemma, and someone there explained how I could go to the Internet, download the right form, and send it back for processing. I thought to myself, “This is gong to take the rest of the day.” We found a library close by, downloaded the form, faxed it to Boise and by the time we got back to the car rental desk, the Certificate of Extension was already there. I couldn’t believe it.

The person in your office who handled this matter so efficiently was Naomi Rawls. Please thank her so much for her efforts. She went beyond the “call of duty” to handle this so expeditiously.

Thanks so much,
Bob Walker
