The Idaho Transportation Department received two international Public Affairs and Consumer Education (PACE) awards from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. Idaho’s winning projects were the externally produced brochure “Yes! Idaho” that encourages drivers to participate in the organ donor registry program, and for production of a billboard “Face in the Windshield,” coordinated by ITD’s Office of Traffic and Highway Safety. The projects will be acknowledged as part of the annual AAMVA international conference, Aug. 28-Sept. 1 in Fort Worth, Texas. Announcement of the awards this week represents the second consecutive year ITD projects have merited an international PACE Award. Last year, the Division of Motor Vehicles was honored for sponsoring and staffing an information booth at the Western Idaho State Fair. All four of the DMV sections participated, giving fair attendees an opportunity to get a broad range of information at one place. AAMVA will present 17 international awards at the summer conference, two of which will come home to Idaho.
