Cool relief on hot commute
I was driving home on the freeway to Caldwell from Boise Monday afternoon when my front tire went flat. I was able to pull my car over to the left side of the road (I had been in the left lane) and got out to assess the damage. It was extremely hot and although I know how to change a tire, I wasn't able to get the lug nuts off.

Within 10 minutes an Incident Response vehicle pulled up behind me. The very nice and professional gentleman who assisted me was a welcome site. I had called my husband from my cell phone, but he wouldn't have gotten there for another twenty minutes or so.

Your wonderful employee offered me water and graciously changed my tire in that heat without one complaint (my husband had grumbled a bit). It is so nice that you have such dedicated employees to help stranded travelers whether they are on their way home from work or going on vacation. I felt safe and very well taken care of and for that, I thank you very much.

I did not think to ask the gentleman’s name who assisted me that afternoon, but I hope you will be able to locate him and let him as well as the other Response drivers who assist us each day in both the heat and freezing temperatures that they are appreciated.

What a wonderful service of the transportation department. I hope that the following information will allow you to find your employee to personally thank him on my behalf.

The date of incident was Monday, July 18th; time was approximately 4:30 p.m. and my car (Honda Accord) was stranded just past the Meridian overpass heading westbound. I am also a state employee and I know how little thanks we sometimes receive for a job well done, I hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Wendy Luderman

Support during criminal investigation

We would like to take this time to thank you for the tremendous support that we received from your agency/department in Kootenai County’s emergency Operations Center (EOC) during the triple homicide investigation and search for Dylan and Shasta Groene.

Your staff worked long hours to assist with procuring needed resources for tactical and EOC operations, including the manning of tip lines.

The teamwork Kootenai County has amongst its agencies and departments is extraordinary and always shines during emergencies. The time and support your agency/department provided ensured successful EOC operations and is truly appreciated by Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department, Idaho State Police, the FBI and this office.

Thank you.

The Idaho City Chamber of Commerce is in a unique position to receive feedback from tourists and visitors from throughout the United States and many foreign countries. The most common comment through our member merchants and interviews on the street is how beautiful and well-maintained Highway 21 is kept. This positive impression not only helps our struggling economy, but also contributes to word-of-mouth advertising by our happy visitors.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to commend the Idaho Transportation Department and the Highway 21 maintenance crews on a job well done, and thank the Highway 21 managers for their contribution of civic pride and interest for the East Boise Basin.

We appreciate the efforts of all and hope this “Thank You” will reach all concerned.

If we can assist you with inputs in the future please contact us.
