One-time, 1 percent increases to be given
in October to qualifying state employees

Qualifying ITD employees will join other state workers in sharing the benefits of a strong economy and 2005 budget surplus.

The 2005 Idaho Legislature authorized a 1 percent, one-time salary increase for state employees (H395) if the general fund balance exceeded $124 million on June 30. Estimates on June 29 placed the state’s general fund surplus at more than $200 million.

As a result, more than $17 million will be allocated to state employees throughout Idaho for the one-time salary increases.

ITD received $874,900 and will distribute the additional personnel funds according to the following criteria, explains Human Resources Manager Mary Harker:

  • Full time employees who are achieving performance expectations will receive a one-time increase of 1 percent of their annual salary calculated on 2,080 hours.
  • Benefited temporary employees will receive a 1 percent one-time increase based on actual hours worked to a maximum of 1,385 hours.
  • Employees who are on entrance probation and those who are not meeting performance expectations will not receive this increase. They will receive a memo notifying them of ineligibility.

The payments will be issued in a separate check (not direct deposit) that will be distributed on Oct. 7

Anyone with questions about the process should contact Human Resource Services.
