Qualifying ITD employees will join other state workers in sharing the benefits of a strong economy and 2005 budget surplus. The 2005 Idaho Legislature authorized a 1 percent, one-time salary increase for state employees (H395) if the general fund balance exceeded $124 million on June 30. Estimates on June 29 placed the state’s general fund surplus at more than $200 million. As a result, more than $17 million will be allocated to state employees throughout Idaho for the one-time salary increases. ITD received $874,900 and will distribute the additional personnel funds according to the following criteria, explains Human Resources Manager Mary Harker:
