The day the lights went out in Wallace

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to pay final respects to a member of the transportation community that served northern Idaho for many years. Ever changing, our colleague provided stability for generations of travelers… a light in the darkness, direction for the aimless, rest for the hurried.

Technological advances rendered those services obsolete and a lifetime of service was shortened by an unceremonial, forced retirement.

Friends, mere acquaintances and total strangers from throughout the nation paused to reflect on the lifelong service when they learned of the sudden passing. While they collectively acknowledge the years of contribution made to the traveling public, they also rejoice in knowing that it is a far better place and greater reward that calls to our friend.

So on this solemn and equally joyous occasion, we bid farewell and wish eternal rest for...
