How well do you know your own heart? ITD employees at District 3 and Headquarters have an opportunity to learn a lot about the organ that works tirelessly to sustain life by participating in a cardiac risk assessment and screening Tuesday. The assessment runs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the district office on Chinden Boulevard. It includes a 14-channel blood screening process that tests for cholesterol (HDL and LDL) glucose, triglycerides, some minerals and enzymes. Participants will need to abstain from food or beverage consumption (except water) for 12 hours before the test. The screening is sponsored by the Wellness Program at a cost of $2.50 per person, payable at the time of the clinic. Appointments are required. In addition to the cardiac risk assessment, the following blood tests also will be available at additional costs:
Individuals may get the cardiac risk assessment without a doctor’s order, however, a written doctor’s order is required for the additional screenings. Please consult your physician to determine in advance which tests would be beneficial. |
