The eighth annual Web cast Initiative on Oct. 20, held in conjunction with National Cyber Security Awareness month, focused on efforts to protect children who use the Internet. The event was disseminated live to more than 5,000 registered participants, representing 38 states and two countries. The national Web cast on Protecting Our Children on the Internet consisted of a play entitled “Cyber Smart in Cyber Space” geared toward the fourth- and fifth-grade levels in which actors performed a cyber security-related skit interacting with the children. The play used content from CyberSmart (http://www.cybersmart.org/home/), an organization dedicated to teaching secure, responsible and effective Internet and computer use. The skit was acted out with members of Plays for Living (http://www.playsforliving.org/) The latest Web cast and other related materials are available
