Nearing the completion of its mission, the Forum on Transportation Investment (FTI) met for the sixth of its eight scheduled sessions Tuesday (Nov. 1) at the Holiday Inn in Boise. The FTI is charged with examining highway, rail and transit funding issues in Idaho. The group of state economic leaders first met in September 2004 in Boise. The forum will compile a report on its findings and recommendations to be delivered to the Idaho Transportation Board. During its most recent meeting, forum members reviewed presentations from earlier meetings during the morning session and spent the afternoon discussing possible final recommendations. The group meets again on Tuesday, Nov. 29 and a final scheduled date in early January. Members will decide on the recommendations to be made by the forum and review the final document in the remaining meetings. Information about the Forum on Transportation Investment’s sessions is posted on the transportation department’s Web site: http://www.itd.idaho.gov/info/ti.forum/
