On January 18, 2006 ITD will begin using ITD Advantage (often referred to as AMS) to capture timesheet data and process payroll. The payroll portion of the system will go live January 15, the beginning of the pay period; however, we ask that you not attempt to enter timesheet data into the system until the 18th. For the first pay period (Jan. 15-28) you will need to fill out both the ITD Advantage timesheet as well as the two timesheets for IFMS (one per week). So, to explain, everyone must fill out one paper IFMS timesheet per week for two weeks and submit it the same as they currently do. Additionally, for the ITD Advantage system, if the employee has been trained to use the electronic timesheet, he or she will enter their data directly into Advantage using the electronic timesheet; otherwise, if not trained, the paper version of ITD Advantage timesheet must be submitted. Again, this is only for the first pay period. We are asking for the dual entry so that if for some reason we can’t process payroll in Advantage, we will be able to fall back on IFMS. After this first pay period you will only be required to submit the ITD Advantage timesheet, either electronic or paper as appropriate. We are very excited about this step in the project. The HR functionality of ITD Advantage went live in October and in only a couple more weeks, on Feb. 13, we will transition completely from IFMS to ITD Advantage. We believe the new system is a great product and a significant move forward for the Department.
