Members of the Idaho Transportation Board re-elected Jack Combo to serve as the board’s vice-chairman for another year when they met in Boise on Feb. 23. Idaho law requires that a vice-chairman be elected every February, and for the past seven years, they have awarded the position to Combo. An attorney from Idaho Falls, Combo was chairman of the transportation board from 1991 to 1995. The vice-chairman oversees board proceedings in the absence of the chairman who is appointed by the governor. Combo was first appointed to the board in 1990. He is serving his third six-year term, which runs through Jan. 31, 2008. He is the former counsel and deputy manager of the Department of Energy’s Idaho Operations Office and continues a private law practice.
