Recipe for driving responsibly

Hal Putnam
Division of Motor Vehicles,

Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to teach Life’s Kitchen students the legal framework behind being a responsible driver.

All of them are so close, but still learning about car and driver issues. You helped them to take it seriously.

Thank you too for checking [on a] California record. You are appreciated here.

Invest in healthy future

To state employees,
It is with great enthusiasm that I announce the launch of the state of Idaho weight loss program. With the tobacco cessation program well on its way, it is time to begin the next phase of our three-phase wellness program.

Good nutrition is crucial in maintaining a healthy weight and improving your overall health and well-being. By incorporating healthy lifestyle changes, you will have more energy, sleep better and improve your physical and mental health…

Becoming a healthier you isn’t just about eating healthy – it’s also about physical activity. Despite the proven benefits of physical activity, more than 50 percent of American adults do not get enough physical activity to provide health benefits.

I encourage each of you to evaluate your current level of health and decide on a plan that is right for you. You must begin a weight loss program by May 31, 2006, to be eligible for reimbursement. If you are unsure about your current health or which program is right for you, please contact your physician. For more assistance, contact the Office of Group Insurance at (800) 531-0597.

Dirk Kempthorne,
Governor

(Note: The Transporter will provide details about the state’s new health and wellness program next week.)
