Planning group seeks input for
southwestern Idaho's needs

Communities in Motion, a regional planning organization in southwestern Idaho, will accept comments on its Regional Long-Range Transportation Plan beginning Tuesday (April 18). The 30-day comment period closes at 5 p.m., May 19.

A new public involvement opportunity for Communities in Motion – Communities in Conversation – will begin May 3 and continue through the end of the comment period.

Described as a “meeting-in-a-bag,” the dialog is designed to provide a flexible way to encourage public conversation about the plan. Individuals can pick a location, date and time and invite friends, neighbors or colleagues to attend. COMPASS (Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho) will provide the materials needed to host the informational meeting, including a host instruction booklet, an informational DVD, the draft plan on CD-ROM, a printed plan, an executive summary, a large map and comment sheets.

Meeting materials will be available on May 3 in the lobby of the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, 315 Stampede Dr., Nampa, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and on May 4 in the lobby of the Idaho Historical Museum, 610 Julia Davis Dr., Boise.

Individuals are encouraged to reserve meeting materials by calling 855-2588, ext. 222.

COMPASS has scheduled two public hearings on May 18 to receive public testimony: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Ada County Courthouse Public Hearing Room in Boise; and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center.

The draft plan, comment forms and supporting materials will be available for review beginning Tuesday (April 18) on the Web at http://www.communitiesinmotion.org/conversation06.html .

For copies of the plan, call 855-2558, ext. 231.
