Credit union to have 54th annual meeting

Idahy Federal Credit Union invites members to participate in its 54th annual meeting, April 27. The meeting will be in the Cascade Room at the Holiday Inn off Vista Avenue in Boise.

The return of a half-hour “Family Fun Time” will precede the annual meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Appealing to families with young children, the event features Boomer, SnickleFritz and their balloon friends. The business meeting will follow at 7 p.m. and will include election of officers. Incumbents who have been nominated to run for the three vacant positions are: Glenda Fuller, Jim Howard and Robert “Bob” Snyder.

The evening will conclude with drawings for door prizes, entertainment and light refreshments.

Idahy has grown from humble beginnings in the boiler room of the Idaho Highway Department Building to a full-function, modern financial institution with three branch offices in Boise, one in Coeur d’Alene and one in La Grande, Ore.

The credit union was established for highway department employees, but since has expanded to include members of the Idaho State Police and other agencies and to non-state employees. When ITD moved to its Headquarters campus at 3311 W. State St. in Boise, the credit union migrated to a new office at 1010 Rose Street, one block east of ITD.

Despite the credit union’s expanded role – and service area – ITD employees maintain a visible presence on its board of directors.

Current board members:

  • Pat Marler, chairperson
  • Sherie Sweaney, vice-chairperson
  • Robert “Bob” Snyder, treasurer
  • Glenda Fuller, secretary
  • Dan Eineichner, security officer
  • Roberta Silva, membership officer
  • Mary Detmar
  • Jim Howard
  • Bill Knudsen

Detmar and Knudsen chose not to run for re-election in 2006. Fuller, Howard and Snyder all agreed to run for the remaining three positions.
