The ITD Wellness Program has arranged for several health-related services to be delivered to employees this fall, some of which bear no direct cost. Headquarters employees should receive information later this month about the annual flu shot clinic scheduled for Nov. 14. Those who complete and return a registration form will be assigned an appointment time for a flu shot. It is offered first for ITD employees only. If the vaccine supply is sufficient, family members older than 18 years may be offered shots for $20 each. A cardiac risk profile and blood screen clinic is scheduled for Dec. 13 at the District 3 complex on Chinden Boulevard. Offered by Saint Alphonsus Corporate Health Services and Treasure Valley Lab, the screening process will be from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Regional Large Conference Room. Cost will be $25 per person (exact payment amount or checks payable to SARMC are required). The cardiac risk profile tests the following: Cholesterol – Triglyceride – HDL –LDL – VLDL – Cholesterol /HDL Ration – Glucose – Urea Nitrogen – Creatinine – Sodium – Potassium – Chloride – CO2 – Calcium – Total Protein – Albumin – Globulin – Bilirubin – Alkaline; Phosphates – AST (SGOT) – ALT (SGPT). Employees should take their insurance card to the screenings so Saint Alphonsus can submit a claim to Blue Cross for possible reimbursement. Other tests available by prescription include:
The cardiac risk profile is available without a physician’s order, but the additional blood work requires a prescription. Consult your physician to determine whether any of the additional tests are appropriate. Since the screening is a “fasting” blood draw, no food or beverage can be consumed within 12 hours of the tests. Water and coffee are acceptable as long as the drinks do not contain sugar or cream. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age. Two mammogram clinics are scheduled at Headquarters this fall through St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center. The on-site clinic will begin at 9 a.m. both days and continue through 3 p.m., with a break from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The mobile unit is capable of 15 exams per day. Requirements include:
Participants should allow one hour for the mammogram and should present their insurance card at the time of the exam. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact St. Luke’s at 381-2055. Published 10-20-06 |
