Service beyond the regular
work day
Scott Stokes
ITD District 1 Engineer,
My husband and I wish to convey our appreciation for
the assistance provided by one of your employees.
On the afternoon of Sept. 29, [our vehicle] had broken down at an exit
from I-90 between Kellogg and Wallace. The exit was the one where the
memorial to the Sunshine Mine Disaster is located. We were on the first
day of our vacation, pulling a 38' RV, and were having problems with
the cold air intake hose in our pickup.
The only person who stopped to help was Pete Peterson, an employee of
the Idaho Department of Transportation. He was on his way home from
work, and spent about 30 minutes of his own time helping us get the
problem resolved so that we could continue on to Missoula, Mont. We
really appreciate the assistance, as it is possible that we would not
have been able to continue on without his help.
Please make sure that a copy of this e-mail is sent to his personnel
file and extend our sincere thanks to Pete. He deserves recognition
for excellence in customer service.
