Form W-2s available online

State employees may view and/or print their 2006 Form W-2 from the State Controller's Office Web page.

Instead of waiting for days or weeks for a Form W-2 to arrive in the mail, employees may retrieve their forms in minutes and print a copy from the Web. This online service also allows employees to access copies of their Form W-2s from previous years, dating to tax year 2002.

Several important changes have been made to the online Form W-2 for 2006.

Employees who choose to view their Form W-2 online will not receive a paper copy in the mail. And employees terminated after Jan. 21, 2005, also will be able to access their
W-2 on the Web.

To access the online Form W-2, logon to the SCO applications via the online Logon at https://www.sco.idaho.gov/defaultweb.nsf/mainframeset.htm Employees will be prompted for the same user name and password used to access I-TIME or pay check stubs. Once at the Application Menu Page, click “Form W-2.”

Consent is required before being able to view the W-2 online. Employees will be prompted to read the “Terms of Use” and click the 'I Accept' button to proceed.

After agreeing to the terms of use, employees will not be prompted for consent again when accessing this application, unless the “Removed Consent” option had been selected previously. You may elect to “consent” and “remove consent” at anytime during the year.
To have a password reset, send an e-mail to scohelpdesk@sco.idaho.gov from the State of Idaho e-mail address. Individuals, who do not have a State of Idaho e-mail address, should contact the payroll/personnel technician at their respective agency and ask for an e-mail to be sent on their behalf.

Advantages to viewing the Form W-2 online
Employees who choose to view/print their 2006 Form W-2 from the Controller’s Office Web page will be able to obtain a copy two weeks before paper copies are mailed. They will no longer need to worry about lost or stolen mail and can have access to their Form W-2 even when away from home.

Online access vs. Mailed Paper Copy of Form W-2's for Tax Year 2006
Employees are not required to access their Form W-2 online. Therefore, additional processing is required to determine which employees have elected the online version and those who still prefer to receive a paper copy. As of Jan. 23 employees must choose from the options below:

  • View/Print Online (No paper copy) - Employees who have accessed the online application and accepted the “terms of use” as outlined above, consenting to online view/print only.
  • Paper copy mailed to home addresses - employees who have not accessed their Form W-2 online or who have withdrawn consent. The anticipated mailing date for paper form W-2s is Jan. 25.

Participation in the W-2 Download of tax year 2006
This year the State of Idaho will participate in the W-2 download program through Turbo Tax. However, the CCH's CompleteTax download program is no longer available.
Duplicate W-2 Requests

The State Controller's Office will not process requests for duplicate W-2s until after Jan. 31. After that date, the State Controller's Office will charge a $5 fee for all duplicate W-2 requests. Please contact the State Controller's Office at 334-2394 for duplicate W-2s.
