Service award change will offer more item choices

The semi-annual awards ceremony for Headquarters employees who have reached career milestones, and those who retired during the second half of 2006 is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21.

Twice each year, ITD recognizes employees who have achieved individual service milestones through the department’s Employee Service Award Program – but it’s time for a makeover.

Beginning next fall, the program will expand the choice and variety of items employees may select as awards for five or more years of service, explains Michelle Rowland with Human Resources.

Instead of choosing among just a few commemorative items to go along with a framed certificate and personal letter, employees soon will be able to select from many more items through catalogs available in print and online. Choices will include more variety in both commemorative and contemporary items.

In addition to pens, paperweights and desk clocks, employees may choose a cordless telephone, fine jewelry, a hiking backpack or even a George Foreman stainless steel tailgate grill. Many of the items will feature the Idaho State Seal.

ITD will join more than 50 Idaho state agencies now using the new program offered through the Division of Human Resources.
