Stranded motorist grateful for help Allen Frew I did a foolish thing and ran out of gas about six miles from the Flying J gas station out of Twin Falls. Not having a cell phone, all that I could do was start walking back to one of the farmhouses about a mile back. I was a little nervous, as you never know what kind of people will try and stop to offer assistance. I was so relieved when Dennis Black, with the Idaho Transportation Department turned around and came back to offer assistance. He was nice enough to take me into the Flying J station and we bought some gas, then he returned me to my car and helped get me on the road again. You will never know how much I appreciated his courtesy and help. He is an asset to your department. Phyllis M. Jones, Thanks for remembering military Tammie Jauregui We are so very thankful for your contribution. In 2006 we were able to mail 721 boxes overseas. Our goal for 2007 is to mail 1,000 packages by the end of the year. We have already mailed 100 boxes. We have received cards, letters and e-mails from many of the troops expressing their profound thanks and appreciation. Because of you and others in our community, this program has touched many soldiers’ lives and will be ongoing as long as our troops are deployed.
