ITD continues selection process for vacancies

As ITD continues the process to identify a replacement for Scott Stokes in District 1, a new search will begin soon for District 3 following the announcement last week that Eric Shannon will trade his position as district engineer for a job in the private sector.

The application period for the Engineer Manager 3 (district engineer) position in Coeur d’Alene has closed, said Shanah Percy of Human Resource Services. Stokes vacated the position last month when he was promoted to Deputy Director and relocated to Boise. Human Resources is reviewing applications for the position.

Shannon’s announced resignation, effective March 16, leaves a second district engineer’s position open. ITD has not had two district engineer positions vacant at the same time in recent memory, Percy said.

Devin Rigby became the District 4 engineer in 1997, Ed Bala was named District 5 engineer in 1998. and Tom Cole became District 6 engineer in 2000.

Shannon assumed acting District 3 engineer duties Aug. 1 2004, replacing Pam Lowe. He was named district engineer about five weeks later.

An initial round of interviews also has been completed for administrator of the Division of Aeronautics, an opening that resulted from the December retirement of Bob Martin.
