More than 350 transportation engineers, planners, designers and consultants from throughout the region will gather in Boise Wednesday and Thursday (April 4-5) to discuss innovative partnering solutions for transportation projects. It
will be at the Boise Centre on the Grove from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both

An awards banquet will conclude the opening day at 6 p.m. Twenty-five applicants are vying for Excellence in Transportation awards in the following categories: environmental stewardship, transportation planning, construction, design and public participation. "The Excellence in Transportation awards recognize Idaho projects that make exemplary use of transportation tools and are of exceptional benefit to the public," ITD's Lowe said. Dan McNichol, an expert on the U.S. interstate highway system, will be the featured speaker at the Wednesday banquet. The Boston author of five books on highway construction, writes for the New York Times, has been featured in USA Today and has appeared on all the major television networks. Four concurrent breakout sessions are planned on Thursday, featuring discussions related to transportation planning, project design, environmental concerns and construction materials.
