A note from the Statewide Truck Roadeo coordinator Robin Freeman and Mike Praegitzer deserve special recognition. By finishing first and second respectively, they earn the privilege to represent ITD at the annual Western Snow and Ice Conference this fall in Colorado. I am sure they will be well prepared. As the dust settles on this year’s state roadeo, I want to thank all of the folks from District 3 who helped organize and run the event at the Mountain Home Maintenance Shed. We couldn’t have done it without you. I especially appreciate the help Bob Williams has given the past several years in organizing and running the roadeo. Conducting the roadeo sometimes requires you to be the “ring master,” giving instructions, information and assistance, and requires you to be a master of ceremonies when presenting the awards. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of activities that I sometimes forget to give credit where it is truly due – to Bob Williams. You don’t always get the best weather to set up the courses or to run the events. Bob has experienced a constant downpour of rain in Twin Falls, winter-like conditions in District 1 and 20 mph-plus winds in Mountain Home. But the weather has never dampened his enthusiasm. Thanks, Bob. To those of you who competed, both at the district roadeos and at the state event, I want thank you, too, and look forward to seeing you next spring when we do it again.
