NEW: Inside Desert (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 1,300 acres at 75 percent contained. This fire is 28 miles west of Roseworth. Active fire behavior was reported.
NEW: Middle Fork Complex (Boise National Forest): 1,587 acres at five percent contained. This complex of 22 fires is 18 miles northeast of Lowman. The fires burned actively yesterday.
NEW: Jim Canyon (Sawtooth National Forest): 4,000 acres at 10 percent contained. This fire is seven miles west of Curlew. Residences are threatened and evacuations are in effect. Highway 81 is closed.
NEW: Hula (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 563 acres at 90 percent contained. This fire is two miles south of Bliss.
NEW: Poe Cabin (Craig Mountain Area Office, Idaho Department of Lands): 4,000 acres at an unknown percent contained. This fire is six miles southwest of White Bird. Extreme fire behavior was observed. Structures are threatened and evacuations are in place.
Twin Buttes (Idaho National Laboratory, Department of Energy): 9,436 acres at 80 percent contained. This fire is four miles northeast of Atomic City. Extreme fire behavior was observed Structures and communication towers are threatened. Highway 20 is intermittently closed. Information: Call 208-557-5823 or 208-313-7740.
Cascade Complex (Boise National Forest): 650 acres at five percent contained. This complex of 17 fires is four miles northeast of Cascade. Extreme fire behavior was reported. Forest Service roads and trail closures are in effect. Information: Call (208) 384-3266 or visit the web site.
Gun Canyon (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 4,000 acres at 80 percent contained. This fire is seven miles east of Declo. Moderate fire behavior was observed. Information: Call (208) 308-5991 or visit the web site.
Wood Creek (Boise District, Bureau of Land Management): 1,900 acres at 70 percent contained. The fire is 18 miles southeast of Boise. Winds created extreme fire behavior. Reduction in acreage is due to more accurate mapping.
Elk Mountain (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 160,000 acres at 10 percent contained. This fire is 23 miles northwest of Jackpot. Extreme fire behavior was reported. Power lines and residences are threatened. Information: Call (208) 308-5991 or visit the web site.
Smith Crossing (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 3,000 acres at 95 percent contained. This fire is 33 miles southwest of Hollister. It is burning actively in grass and brush.
Rowland (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 95,000 acres at 15 percent contained. This fire is nine miles southwest of Murphy Hot Springs and burning in grass and brush. Van Horn (Salmon-Challis National Forest): 300 acres at 15 percent contained. This fire is 15 miles north of Challis. Structures are threatened.
Tongue Complex (Boise District, Bureau of Land Management): 48,658 acres at 45 percent contained. This complex is 45 miles south of Silver City. It is comprised of previously reported fires including Crutcher, Red Canyon and Bald Mountain. Structures remain threatened. Information: Call 541-586-2141 or visit the web site.
Black Pine 2 (Sawtooth National Forest): 73,000 acres at 90 percent contained. This fire is 11 miles southeast of Malta and is burning in brush and grass. Information: Call 208-645-2008 or visit the web site.
East Zone Complex (Payette National Forest): 13,500 acres at zero percent contained. This complex is made up of two fires, including the previously reported Zena. This fire is 25 miles northeast of McCall and is burning in timber and grass. Moderate fire behavior and several new fires were reported. Many structures are threatened. Chimney Complex (Craig Mountain Area Office, Idaho Department of Lands): 35,000 acres at 55 percent contained. This fires is 19 miles south of Lewiston and is burning in tall grass, brush and timber. Structures are threatened. Information: Call 208-924-0014 or visit the web site.
Rattlesnake (Nez Perce National Forest): 9,000 acres at zero percent contained. This fire is 25 miles south of Elk City and is burning in timber. Active fire behavior with torching and short runs was reported. Structures are threatened.
Trapper Ridge (Boise National Forest): 660 acres. This WFU is four miles northeast of Graham Airstrip. Active fire behavior was reported. Information: Call (208) 384-3266 or visit the web site.
Concord (Nez Perce National Forest): 347 acres. This WFU is 20 miles southwest of Elk City. It is burning in timber.
Krassel Complex (Payette National Forest): 9,499 acres. This WFU is 45 miles northeast of Yellowpine. The complex includes the previously reported Tag and Goat fires. Minimal fire behavior was observed. Information: Call 208-634-0983 or visit the web site.
Gem Country (Boise District, Bureau of Land Management): This fire was contained at 2,508 acres.
Arkansas (Idaho Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): This fire was contained at 1,498 acres.
