Firefighters battling 12 active blazes in Idaho

NEW: Bridge (Clearwater National Forest): 540 acres at zero percent contained. This fire is 45 miles southwest of Missoula. Structures and campgrounds are threatened. Murphy Complex (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management): 659,993 at 70 percent contained. This complex is 56 miles southwest of Twin Falls. It includes the previously reported Rowland and Elk Mountain fires. Minimal fire behavior was observed. The fire received some rain yesterday. Numerous towns and ranches are threatened. Middle Fork Complex (Boise National Forest): 6,315 acres at 20 percent contained. This complex of 22 fires is 18 miles northeast of Lowman. Active fire activity was observed. Structures are still threatened. Roads in the area are closed. Information: Call (208) 384-3266 or visit the web site.
Poe Cabin (Craig Mountain Area Office, Idaho Department of Lands): 45,000 acres at 30 percent contained. This fire is six miles southwest of White Bird. Moderate fire behavior was observed. Subdivisions and communities are threatened. Evacuations and are in effect. Residents can call the Idaho County Sheriff's office at 208-983-1100 with any questions regarding evacuation. Cascade Complex (Boise National Forest): 12,031 acres at 12 percent contained. This complex of 17 fires is four miles northeast of Cascade. Moderate fire behavior was reported. Communities and structures are threatened. Information: Call (208) 384-3266 or visit the web site.
Van Horn (Salmon-Challis National Forest): 1,650 acres at 50 percent contained. This fire is 15 miles north of Challis. Moderate fire activity was reported. Rain fell over the fire yesterday.
Tongue Complex (Boise District, Bureau of Land Management): 46,680 acres at 95 percent contained. This complex is 45 miles south of Silver City. It is comprised of previously reported fires including Crutch er, Red Canyon and Bald Mountain. Minimal fire activity was reported. Information: Call (208) 384-3444 or visit the web site.
Black Pine 2 (Sawtooth National Forest): 73,123 acres at 90 percent contained. This fire is 11 miles southeast of Malta and is burning in brush and grass. Minimal fire activity was observed. Rain fell over the fire yesterday. Information: Call (208) 737-3262 or visit the web site.
East Zone Complex (Payette National Forest): 26,522 acres at 20 percent contained. This complex is made up of three fires, including the previously reported Zen. This fire is 25 miles northeast of McCall and is burning in timber and grass. Moderate fire behavior was reported. Communities, bridges, campgrounds and numerous structures are threatened. Raines (Payette National Forest): 13,762 acres at 20 percent contained. This fire was previously reported under the East Zone Complex. It is 38 miles northeast of McCall and is burning in timber. Structures are threatened. Information: Call (208) 634-1890 or visit the web site.
Chimney Complex (Craig Mountain Area Office, Idaho Department of Lands): 51,000 acres at 65 percent contained. This fires is 19 miles south of Lewiston and is burning in tall grass, brush and timber. Rattlesnake (Nez Perce National Forest): 17,200 acres at 15 percent contained. This fire is 25 miles south of Elk City and is burning in timber. Moderate fire behavior with torching was reported. WFU: NEW Drake (Nez Perce National Forest): 145 acres. This WFU is 48 miles east of Grangeville, burning in timber. Minimal fire activity was observed.
WFU: Trapper Ridge (Boise National Forest): 11,239 acres. This WFU is 28 miles northeast of Idaho City. Active fire behavior was reported. Structures are threatened. The fire received some rain yesterday. Information: Call (208) 392-3739 or visit the web site.
WFU: Concord (Nez Perce National Forest): 1,200 acres. This WFU is 20 miles southwest of Elk City. It is burning in timber. Precipitation fell over the fire yesterday.

WFU: Krassel Complex (Payette National Forest): 13,223 acres. This WFU complex of four fires is 44 miles northeast of Yellow Pine. The complex includes the previously reported Tag and Goat fires. Minimal fire behavior was observed. Information: Call 208-634-0983 or visit the web site.
