Simmons to leave ITD

Susan Simmons announced this week that she will step down as Administrator of the Division of Administration for ITD.

She joined ITD in April 1997 as controller and was promoted to head of the Division of Administrative Services (now Administration) in 2001. Last December, her duties were expanded to include administrative responsibilities for the Division of Aeronautics until John DeThomas was hired in April.

Before joining ITD she worked for 13 years in the Division of Financial Management where she was involved in statewide financial and budget issues.

A certified public account, Simmons was a board member of the Public Employees Retirement System for nine years, leaving the board in 2004.

“Sue’s fiscal expertise will truly be missed. I know we will all wish her the best in her future endeavors” said Pamela Lowe, ITD Director.

Dave Tolman will serve as acting Division Administrator until a permanent replacement is selected.
