Bottom line

Sendoff planned for retiring Larry Falkner
Larry Falkner, who has served as administrator of ITD’s Division of Public Transportation for nearly a decade, will retire this fall. With accrued annual leave, his last day with the department will be Aug. 31.

The ITD community is invited to collectively express its best wishes during an informal event Aug. 29. The drop-in farewell is scheduled for the auditorium at Headquarters between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Joe Haynes to retire
A longtime partner with ITD on transportation projects statewide, Joe Haynes will step down next month as director of the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council. He is the first and only person to lead the organization that represents city and county highway districts in Idaho.
Colleagues have organized a farewell event Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Red Lion Hotel, Boise DownTowner, 1800 Fairview Ave. in Boise. The event will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Refreshments will be available and well-wishers are encouraged to bring a toast or a great story to tell.

Summer refreshment
DoRolCo, an employee organization at Headquarters, will sponsor create an “Ice Cream Shop” Tuesday (Aug. 21) in the East Annex and nearby lawn. Ice cream treats will be available from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.; there is no cost for current or new DoRolCo members; non-members will contribute $2.
