Fire discussion: Firefighters continue great efforts
toward containing fires in the western states. Moderated weather conditions
also continues to help firefighters with their efforts. A total of 30
large fires has currently burned 1,260,350 acres throughout the country.
Weather
discussion: Dry weather conditions is predicted for Washington,
Oregon, Idaho, and western Montana for the next few days. Southern California
will also be dry. The southeastern states will experience an increase
in showers and thunderstorms.

Greys Creek (Payette National Forest): 4,413 acres at
75 percent contained. This fire is burning 13 miles south of Council.
Active fire behavior was reported. Area closures and evacuations
are in order.

Rose
Creek (Boise District, Bureau of Land Management): The
fire was contained at 363 acres. |
Middle
Mountain (Twin Falls District, Bureau of Land Management):
The fire was contained at 2,300 acres. |
Confluence
Complex (Salmon-Challis National Forest):40,134 acres at
an unknown percent contained. These three fires are located 28 miles
southwest of North Fork. Minimal fire behavior was reported. Area

Chief
Parrish (Southwest Area Office, Idaho Department of Lands):
3,150 acres at 45 percent contained. This fire is burning one
mile south of Banks. Creeping and torching fire behavior was reported.
Banks is currently threatened. Highway 55 restrictions and area
closures are in effect.

Bridge
(Clearwater National Forest): 42,250 acres at zero percent
contained. This complex of two fires is 45 miles southwest of
Missoula. Creeping and smoldering were observed.

Cascade
Complex (Boise National Forest): 278,334 acres at 30
percent contained. This complex of two fires is 16 miles northeast
of Cascade. Structures, power lines, cultural sites, and historical
cabins remain threatened. Evacuations and road closures are in
effect.

East
Zone Complex (Payette National Forest): 246,150 acres
at an unknown percent contained. This complex is made up of two
fires, 25 miles northeast of McCall. Structures remain threatened.
Road closures are in effect.

Rattlesnake
(Nez Perce National Forest): 99,500 acres at 25 percent contained.
This fire is 25 miles south of Elk City. Minimal fire activity
was reported.

Shower
Bath (Salmon-Challis National Forest): 120,102 acres
at an unknown percent contained. These two fires are located 18
miles northwest of Challis. Structures remain threatened. Creeping,

acres. This Wildland Fire Use (WFU) complex is being managed to
accomplish natural resource objectives. It is located four fires
is 44 miles northeast of Yellow Pine.
