Letter from Idaho Gov. C.L. 'Butch' Otter

Dear fellow state employees:
As state employees, we spend each day serving our fellow Idahoans to the best of our ability. Through these efforts, we improve lives. Our reward is our great fortune to live in a state that not only is rich in its beautiful and diverse landscape, but also in its vibrant, growing communities and its active, involved citizens.

For many of us, this spirit of giving extends well beyond the workplace. Our long tradition of generosity through Idaho’s “United We Care” State Charitable Giving
Campaign is one such example.

As we kick off the 2007-08 campaign, I invite you to join me in supporting this effort, and the many worthy organizations that need our help.

I am pleased that during this year’s campaign, any undesignated funds, plus the state’s 7 percent campaign management fee will be donated 50/50 between the Idaho Meth Project and 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine by United Way of Treasure Valley.

It has been said that as you look back upon your life, the moments that stand out are the moments when you have done things for others. Together, we have the opportunity to truly make an impact in our communities by supporting charities whose work matters to us, and a chance to look back later and see what a difference we have made.

Thank you, in advance, for participating in the “United We Care” campaign. Your pledge is sure to be an investment that is appreciated throughout the year.

As Always – Idaho, “Esto Perpetua”
C.L. “Butch” Otter, Governor
