Families, school grateful for Thanksgiving gifts

ITD Materials Section,
Your department's generous donation of 10 turkey dinners provided a Thanksgiving feast for over 35 of our Lowell children and their families. Every family that received one of the meals was genuinely appreciative.

One of the parents was surprised and delighted that she would be able to have a traditional meal on this special holiday. Her grocery budget was running out for the month. You gave the gift of hope to these families along with a delicious meal.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness,

Linda Hammond
School counselor, Lowell Elementary School

True gems in time of need

Idaho Transportation Department,
On Nov. 20 Jim Stam and Greg Munden of your Coeur d’Alene office assisted my wife and I as we were going west on Interstate 90. The car I was hauling came off of the trailer on Lookout pass. A very dangerous accident but fortunately there was no damage to car or anyone traveling behind us.

Jim and Greg went beyond the call of duty to ensure a safe highway by placing flares and directing traffic. Additionally, they assisted in reloading the car, and that was greatly appreciated.

Idaho is known as the Gem state. Most think of rocks and minerals we will always think of Jim Stam and Greg Munden as the real gems in Idaho.

Taking the pain out of “marrying” VINs

Division of Motor Vehicles,
I recently had to deal with some document clarification details concerning an older pick-up truck I had purchased and parts from another truck, which entailed “marrying” VIN numbers from one to the other. It was not an ordeal I looked forward to.

But Adrian Lindsay, one of your motor vehicle inspectors, took the pain out of the experience. Indeed, Adrian was a very professional and personable representative of Idaho government at its best.

He took care of my stuff in a timely, organized, detail-oriented manner.

All of my dealings with the license bureau, vehicle registrations and even the emission testing folks have been less painful than one would think possible in dealing with a bureaucracy.
Adrian Lindsay’s job performance was laudable. We Idahoans are lucky to have folks like Adrian working for us.
