ITD to begin Internet Explorer 7 demos, rollout

The newest version of Microsoft’s web browser will be deployed at ITD starting after the first of the New Year. We will start rolling out Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) in Corporate IT followed section by section for the rest of the department.

The district IT Coordinators will be responsible for rolling out IE7 in heir respective districts according to the schedule created by the IE7 project manager. We will publish a rollout schedule as soon as it’s finalized. Prior to the rollout, IE7 will have been thoroughly tested; however, if you do have a problem, please notify the Help Desk at ext. 8175.

The computer trainers will demonstrate new features in IE7. The demonstration will be repeated several times to give all employees a chance to attend.

For Headquarters and District 3 employees there will be demonstrations in the Auditorium at the main Headquarters building at 9 a.m., 11 am, and 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, and at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11. Employees may attend any session they wish on a first-come first-seated basis.

The auditorium has 96 seats.

For district employees who cannot come Headquarters, the demonstration will be shown in the District offices via video conference. These video conference demos will be held at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan.14, and at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
