PC users invited to share expertise on Office 2007

Headquarters employees who are already using Microsoft Office 2007 on their home computers are invited to help test that new software at ITD.

If you have 2007 loaded at home and feel comfortable using it, you can be part of the test group at ITD Headquarters.  If you would like to participate please send an e-mail to Sergio Aranguiz (Project Manager for Office 2007). In that e-mail, include the name of the computer on which you want 2007 to be loaded.

If you are unsure of what your computer name is see the paragraph in brackets below.

Once Sergio receives your e-mail, he will check to see if your computer is robust enough to run the new software.  If it is, he will arrange to have Office 2007 loaded on your computer.

[Your computer name usually can be found on a label on the computer. The name would be something such as HQMTPC212222 (six letters followed by six numbers).  If you cannot find the label on the computer, you can look up the name of your computer in Windows.

To do this, with your mouse click on Start, then click on Control Panel, and then double-click on the System icon. The System Properties dialog box will open.  At the top of the dialog box, click the tab that says Computer Name.  In the middle of the tab you will see the words Full Computer Name:  The code to the right of those words is your computer name.

Send the first 12 characters to Sergio. You do not need to send the part that says: "itd.state.id.us"]
