Districts schedule activities during appreciation week

DISTRICT 1
COEUR d'ALENE - Administrative leaders understand what every bride quickly learns – the best way to say thanks is through a good, home-cooked meal.

The D-1 management team will honor district employees by barbecuing lunch at the annual District One Health Fair and Employee Appreciation Barbecue and Service Awards program May 13. The event will begin at 8 a.m.

As part of this year’s activities, employees will be offered a number of free health screenings, covering hearing, diabetes, eyesight and cholesterol levels. Representatives from local businesses and organizations also will be on hand to provide information. They include Costco, PERSI, AFLAC, spas, gyms and banking institutions.

“It’s a real fun day for our employees,” explains business manager Scotty Fellom. “We usually have a huge turnout with most vendors having drawings and/or door prizes throughout the morning and lunch hour.”

The district also will honor employees who have reached career milestones. Among them are:

Five years: Jack Andrews, Brian Colin, GiAnne Householter, Miles Stevens, Dave Stoddard

10 years: Terry Kusener, Bill Panabaker

An employee walk is planned in conjunction with the 2008 fitness challenge on Tuesday; participants will receive rewards from the Wellness Committee.

Crazy clothes day is planned on casual Friday, and winners of the bean-counting event will be announced.
